Lori L. Steggall

Lori L. Steggall, 59, of Sumner, died Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner with her loving family by her side.

A visitation celebrating Lori’s life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner. 

Lori Lynn, daughter of Clarence and Helen (Tank) Haupt was born July 12, 1958, in Sumner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Lori received her education in the Sumner Schools graduating from Sumner High School in 1976. Following graduation she continued her education at N.I.C.C. in Calmar where she received a Nursing Degree. On October 11, 1975, she was united in marriage with Terry Steggall at St. John Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born, Jeremy, Joe, Chris and Dana. Lori worked as a nurse at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner, Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner, and Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union for a brief time prior to returning to Community Memorial Hospital. She was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Lori enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting, rock hunting, photography, kayaking with family and friends, traveling, collecting angels, but most especially she cherished time spent with her family.

Lori is survived by her husband, Terry of Sumner; three children, Joe (Ann) Steggall of Oelwein, Chris Steggall of Sumner, and Dana (Mike) Klein of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Alison and Morgan Steggall of Oelwein; three siblings, Craig (Denise) Haupt of Sumner, Glenn (Diane) Haupt of Wisconsin, and Angie (Mike) Dillon of Urbandale; two sisters-in-law, Clarice Grantham of Nebraska, and Bev Steggall of Oelwein; one brother-in-law, Glen Steggall of Oelwein; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy who died in infancy; her parents, Helen and Clarence; brother, Mark Haupt; sister, Connie Haupt, grandparents; and mother and father-in-law.
